New reports suggest that Thailand e-Visa on arrival is going to start from Feb 14, 2019. The latest service is being set up for tourists from 20 countries. VFS Global has partnered with the Immigration Bureau of Thailand in offering the e-visa on arrival to travellers, which includes Indian travellers as well.
Those travellers, who are eligible, would be able to book their e-visa online, and they will receive the travel authorisation within three days. So, through this new method, you can now fill out the electronic form, and then make an e-payment at any time, regardless of embassy working hours. Once you are at the airport, all you have to do is show your passport at the airline counter, and you will get your visa right then and there.
It is important to note here at the rule is applicable for Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports at Bangkok in addition to Phuket and Chiang Mai airports.
The idea basically is that travellers can now avoid long queues at Thailand airports trying to get their visa on arrival.
The twenty countries that are eligible for the new system put in place are as follows – Andorra, Bhutan, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Taiwan.
